Employee Referral Program Experience Pay Given Shift Differential Job Summary Cares for patients in the hospital under the direction of the nursing staff through the performance of the following duties: Promptly answers call lights to determine patients' needs. Accepts assignments and direction from the RN. Performs or assists with patients' daily personal hygiene needs including bathing, dressing/undressing, oral hygiene, hair care, shaving, etc. Assures change of linen daily (at least) and as needed. Prepares patients for meals; assists in setting up food trays and feeds patients who require assistance. Collects trays at meal completion. Transports patients; assists with ambulation, assists with transfer to commode, chair, bathroom, etc. Collects specimens as directed. Measures and documents intake and output. Performs HS cares including passing clean towels and wash cloths, providing back rub, oral hygiene, and personal hygiene assistance as needed. Runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone as directed. Takes and records patient weight, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Obtains glucometer readings (blood glucose) as directed. Checks ED for cleanliness and supplies; cleans and restocks as needed. Soaks and washes utensils, commodes, etc. Cleans and disinfects IV pumps, poles, wheel chairs, COWS, VS monitors and other equipment. Cleans shelves/cupboards with disinfectant (utility rooms, ED, nursing station, supply rooms)
