RESPONSIBILITIES Job Specific Competencies:
Admits patients to the clinic bay and assists the physician and/or nurse to provide physical care for the patient before, during, and after examinations and procedures. Performs routine clerical activities required for efficient operation of the ambulatory clinic. Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures. Appropriately utilizes facility communication and information systems and equipment.
JCMG Core Competencies:
Strives for continuous quality improvement. Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence. Maintains high work ethic standards. Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma or GED, some college preferred. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) training program preferred, but not required. Graduate from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse School of Nursing.
Experience:
Prefer previous experience as an MA/ LPN in the ambulatory care setting, but not required.
Certification/License:
Certified MA or licensure as an LPN in the state of Missouri preferred BCLS certification or obtain within 3 months of hire
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Medical terminology Basic computer skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions including exposure to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals; must follow universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment.
