A Nursing Assistant provides hospital and nursing home patients with basic care and assists them with daily activities. Helps patients with dressing, washing, and feeding. May perform basic medical care under the direction of a nurse or other medical professional. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive residential setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior and long-term care, with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and memory care needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives by delivering attentive, respectful, and personalized care during scheduled hours. Ideally 6rs a day 3 days a week. Responsibilities Observe and monitor patients' conditions closely, documenting vital signs and changes in health status using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance, and toileting. Administer medications accurately following medical terminology guidelines and facility protocols, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support residents with specialized needs such as catheter care, hospice care, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support strategies. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and assist with medical documentation for ongoing care plans. Provide compassionate support during activities like meal preparation, feeding assistance, and light cleaning to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff to monitor patient progress, report concerns promptly, and ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to infection control standards; assist with laundry and general housekeeping as needed. Uphold confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines during all aspects of patient interaction and documentation. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in patient observation, medication administration, and medical terminology. Experience caring for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia is preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Proven ability to handle home & community care tasks including meal preparation, light cleaning, and personal support activities. Certification as a CNA is required; CPR certification is strongly preferred. Long-term care experience combined with skills in hospice or memory care will be considered an asset.
