Job Description
Position Summary:
The primary purposes of the Nurse Aide role are to provide basic direct patient care and maintenance of the unit environment under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Additionally work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of care under the direction of the licensed nurse.Department Summary:
Inpatient rehab is a 60 bed unit that uses an interdisciplinary team method to provide care to patients. Providing 3 hours of therapy 5 days a week.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Current CPR training certificateSkills:
Detail oriented Communicate effectively Adaptability to changing work environment or needsResponsibilities & Expectations:
Receives and gives report regarding status of assigned patients at beginning and end of shift Performs direct and indirect patient care including but not limited to: bathing feeding toileting performing perineal care providing oral hygiene and denture care measuring intake and output collecting urine and stool specimens transferring from bed, chair, wheelchair assisting with use of walkers, wheelchairs, canes, braces positioning in chairs, beds, wheelchairs, gerichairs turning and changing positions assisting with ambulation making occupied and unoccupied beds weighing providing post mortem care practicing universal precautions and special isolation techniques EKG Bladder Scans Meal percentages Effectively communicates and coordinates care of patients with other caregivers Reports changes in status and unusual events to licensed professionals Attends to the physical, psychological, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation or protected veteran status.Working Conditions:
Work eight/twelve hours a day. This unit requires 24/7 coverage. Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation as needed. Work weekends and holidays as assigned. Every third weekend and every other holiday Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverageLocation:
