Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a 3rd shift Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. Working from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and other essential health indicators accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care techniques to promote safety and comfort. Collaborate with nursing staff to identify changes in residents' conditions, report concerns promptly, and assist with emergency responses including Level I Trauma Center protocols if needed. Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and wound management. Assist with patient transfers using proper transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts while practicing safe manual handling techniques. Qualifications Valid CNA certification required; prior experience working in long-term care facilities or skilled nursing environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification is essential. Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities including developmental disabilities enhances your ability to provide personalized care. Strong communication skills for caregiver-patient interactions and team collaboration are vital for success in this role. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow infection control protocols diligently.
