Duties Facilitate a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including recreational therapy sessions and special events. Develop and implement innovative programs that promote social interaction, cognitive health, and physical activity for residents with diverse needs. Assist with organizing resident events such as birthdays, holiday celebrations, and community outings to enhance resident engagement and morale. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and needs, fostering a sense of belonging and community connection. Collaborate with nursing staff and care teams to support residents' emotional well-being and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed. Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and provide feedback on residents' progress or changing needs. Manage schedules for activity sessions, ensuring timely delivery of programs while coordinating with other team members for seamless operations. Skills Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings. Strong background in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with geriatric patients. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs tailored to residents' cognitive and physical abilities. Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with seniors, families, and team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for record keeping and program documentation. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly desirable.
