Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with specimen collection such as phlebotomy when qualified. Help manage patient comfort by repositioning, providing basic wound care, catheter care, and ensuring proper hygiene. Collaborate with healthcare teams in specialized settings like ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, or post-acute care to deliver tailored patient support. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure confidentiality and accuracy of medical records. Use EMR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks to document patient care activities thoroughly and promptly. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care including Alzheimer's and memory care needs. Familiarity with advanced clinical environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, Level II Trauma Centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or ICU settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, aseptic techniques, and infection control protocols. Ability to operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, catheters, vital sign monitors, and assistive devices for mobility or transfers. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in documenting patient interactions accurately. Strong caregiving skills for seniors in assisted living or nursing home environments; experience in home & community care is a plus. Capable of working effectively in fast-paced settings such as urgent care clinics or hospital medicine units while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across outpatient or inpatient services; working with children or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
