No Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities Teaching:

Participates in the development and evaluation of the ASN and/or BSN program Develops, teaches, and evaluates assigned courses Evaluates student performance on exams and course assignments Evaluates student performance in the clinical environment; including skills lab and simulation lab Assumes responsibility for serving as a course coordinator, as appropriate Coordinates clinical rotation with clinical agency and clinical adjuncts Teaches 12 credits per semester, includes theory, clinical, skills lab and simulation lab Participate in ongoing course and curriculum revision

Service:

Provides engaged service at the programmatic, School, University and community levels Participates in course and programmatic assessment activities Participates in community and professional activities Participates in student recruitment and retention activities Advises currently enrolled and perspective students

Scholarship:

Maintains appropriate scholarly and professional development activities Provides expertise in the area of medical-surgical nursing

Leadership:

Contributes to the continuing innovation and development of the programs in the School of Nursing Participates in the assessment, evaluation, and accreditation of the School of Nursing programs and the University Participates in, manage, or lead projects within the School of Nursing, and University as requested Performs related duties as necessary and as assigned. Minimum Required Education Masters of Science in Nursing (required or near completion) Doctoral degree in nursing preferred Required Licenses and/or Certifications Unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse in WV Required Licenses Certs Summary Unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse in WV Minimum Required Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years recent acute care experience with a focus in medical-surgical nursing, ICU, mental health, e.g. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Required Quals Summary Minimum of two (2) years recent acute care experience with a focus in medical-surgical nursing, ICU, mental health, e.g. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree Previous teaching experience in the classroom, skills and simulation lab Experience with assessment and national accreditation Ability to work in a collaborative environment Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System Familiarity with on-line learning Ability to foster student learning through innovative teaching modalities Ability to develop and maintain partnerships within the University, clinical agencies and profession Commitment to the University and School of Nursing mission
