Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Med Surg unit. In this role, you will coordinate patient care activities, support bedside nurses, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols. You will oversee patient assessments, care planning, and discharge coordination while promoting evidence-based practice and quality standards. The coordinator will mentor staff, assist with staffing and assignments, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. You will monitor patient outcomes, support performance improvement initiatives, and help maintain a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered environment aligned with HCA's mission and values. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities on the Med Surg unit Support and mentor bedside nurses, serving as a clinical resource Conduct and review patient assessments and care plans Ensure safe medication administration and adherence to protocols Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient care Assist with staffing, assignments, and patient flow coordination Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives Facilitate patient and family education and discharge planning Promote compliance with regulatory and hospital policies Foster a culture of safety, compassion, and teamwork Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment Care coordination Clinical documentation (EHR) IV therapy and medication administration Discharge planning Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Staff mentoring/precepting Quality and performance improvement
