As a school-based Occupational Therapist in Plainfield, IL your days will include: Conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement, focusing on areas such as ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), sensory processing, motor skills, and cognitive functioning. Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with each student's unique needs, goals, and educational objectives, ensuring they support progress in both academic and social settings. Implementing targeted occupational therapy programs that enhance fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care abilities, and overall functional independence within the school setting. Collaborate closely with teachers, speech therapists, physical therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and optimize student outcomes. Assisting students with disabilities in participating effectively in classroom activities by supporting adaptive strategies and accommodations tailored to their needs. Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and manage electronic health records (EHR) to ensure compliance with legal standards and facilitate seamless communication among care teams. Supporting discharge planning processes by evaluating progress and recommending ongoing interventions or referrals as needed for post-school support or community services.
Job Details Position:
Contract (option to renew for the following school year) in a school setting
Hours:
Full-time (Monday - Friday); 35 hours/week
Caseload:
Split position between 4 buildings - (2) K-5th grade buildings, (1) middle school building, (1) high school building Successful Candidates Possess An active Illinois Occupational Therapist license (required) Professional Educator License (PEL) is not required Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred) The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
