As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at PCCA, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with complex medical and developmental needs. In this role, you will: Make a meaningful impact every day by providing hands-on occupational therapy services that help children build skills, increase independence, and participate more fully in daily life. Work with children with complex needs including medical, developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and physical challenges. Bring individualized treatment plans to life by assisting the supervising Occupational Therapist in implementing creative, engaging, and goal-driven interventions. Provide pediatric-focused therapeutic and habilitative interventions designed to support functional skills, mobility, self-care, play, and participation. Be part of a collaborative team by working closely with PCCA's interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, nurses, physicians, educators, dietary staff, and direct care professionals. Help children access the world around them by assisting with the evaluation and implementation of adaptive equipment, positioning supports, mobility devices, and specialized wheelchair seating. Celebrate meaningful progress by monitoring patient responses, documenting outcomes, and helping track each child's individual goals and achievements. Share your expertise by supporting caregivers and direct care staff with therapeutic strategies, positioning techniques, and recommendations that can be incorporated into each child's daily routine. Create a safe and engaging environment by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming therapy space that supports learning, exploration, and progress.
