Lighting BS is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team and support children and individuals in need of occupational therapy services. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement therapy plans, assist clients in improving their daily living skills, and promote independence in various settings, including home, school, daycare, and clinic-based environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Occupational Therapist in executing treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Provide hands-on therapy to help clients develop fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills. Document client progress and report findings to the Occupational Therapist. Educate and support families, caregivers and other involved professionals on therapy techniques for continued progress. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for therapy sessions.
Qualifications:
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required. Active Florida state license to practice as a COTA. Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities, is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
