Ophthalmic Technician - Full-Time Arlington Heights | Elk Grove Village | Hoffman Estates A Rare Opportunity to Join a Fantastic Practice and Team Suburban Associates in Ophthalmology (SAO), a leading and well-established ophthalmology practice serving the Northwest Suburban Chicago area, has a rare full-time opening for an Ophthalmic Technician . Opportunities to join our clinical team do not come along often, and we are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who wants to grow their career with an established and growing ophthalmology practice. The position will be primarily based at our Arlington Heights location , with the ability to rotate to our Elk Grove Village and Hoffman Estates offices as needed. This is a full-time position and includes two Saturday mornings per month . Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide exceptional customer service and compassionate care to our patients Obtain visual acuities Perform pupil and angle assessments Evaluate extraocular muscle function and motility Perform confrontation visual fields Perform refractions Perform applanation tonometry Perform A-scan/IOL measurements - experience preferred Dilate patients according to physician protocols Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing Assist physicians with minor office procedures Help ensure the efficient movement of patients throughout their visit Triage patient calls and assist with medication refill requests Work collaboratively with physicians, technicians, scribes, and other members of the clinical team Hours vary based on office location and physician schedules. Qualifications Ophthalmic technician experience preferred COA or COT certification preferred, but not required Proficient computer skills Previous EHR experience preferred, but not required Excellent communication and patient-service skills Dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Willingness to learn and continue developing ophthalmic skills Ability to work at all three SAO locations when needed Compensation & Benefits Compensation is commensurate with ophthalmic experience and certification.
