Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly, professional and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our office. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. The receptionist will play a vital role in maintaining clinical confidentiality, performing medical billing, and ensuring smooth office operations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent front desk customer service Schedule appointments accurately with scheduling software Verify insurance information, check plan benefits, and assist with billing claims Review and update patient documentation, ensuring accuracy in medical records and health information management Collect copayments and process payments in compliance with HIPAA regulations Answer phone calls professionally, triage inquiries, and provide information regarding office services Maintain office organization by managing phone etiquette and record maintenance. Assist with
CPT / ICD
coding for billing purposes, ensuring proper documentation for Medicare and other insurance providers Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while handling protected patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards Support clinic staff with administrative support including filing and faxing Requirements Experience in a medical receptionist or administrative support role within a healthcare setting Knowledge of medical billing procedures including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare policies, and health insurance processes Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and data entry Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance standards Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and documentation review Prior experience working in a optometric office or medical office is advantageous; familiarity with health information management is preferred This position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through efficient front desk administrative support.
