Mt. Hood Eye Care Gresham is the busiest office in our three-practice group. We are locally owned and doctor-led, serving families from Gresham, East Portland, and the Mt. Hood corridor. Our goal is not to make every doctor practice exactly the same way. It is to give a thoughtful OD the staff, systems, and trust needed to do excellent work. This is a good fit for someone who likes comprehensive care, wants to build lasting patient relationships, and believes that how a team works together matters as much as individual talent.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide comprehensive eye and vision examinations for patients across the lifespan. Diagnose and manage refractive conditions and ocular disease within the scope of Oregon licensure. Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medications as clinically appropriate. Interpret diagnostic testing and explain findings in clear, human language. Provide urgent eye care and coordinate referrals or surgical co-management when needed. Maintain accurate, timely records and communicate well with technicians, opticians, front-desk staff, and fellow doctors. Help us improve the patient experience and the systems around it—not merely move through a schedule.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school. Active Oregon optometry license, or the ability to obtain one before starting. A patient-centered approach and sound clinical judgment. Clear, kind communication with patients and teammates.
Dependability:
your team can count on your preparation, documentation, and follow-through. Comfort giving and receiving direct, respectful feedback. Experienced ODs and recent graduates are both encouraged to apply. The right working relationship matters more to us than a perfect résumé.
SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS
Full-time position based primarily at our Gresham office. Weekday schedule, with the final schedule agreed upon during the hiring process. No routine weekend clinic. $125,000-$150,000 annual base salary, depending on experience and fit. Bonus opportunity in addition to base compensation. Benefits are negotiable. We would rather understand what matters most to the right doctor—such as paid time off, health coverage, malpractice insurance, license fees, continuing education, or retirement support—than advertise a one-size-fits-all package.
ABOUT GRESHAM
The office is at 2474 SE Burnside Road in Gresham, with straightforward access to East Portland and the Columbia River Gorge. It is a practical home base for someone who wants access to Portland without giving up proximity to trails, mountains, and the communities east of the city.
