Job Description

The Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department is recruiting for recreation instructors in the following areas: dance instructor, fitness instructor, and enrichment class instructor. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to: Create an inclusive and welcoming class environment. Create a safe, professional, and positive environment through enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations. Demonstrate professionalism at all times - especially in punctuality, responsibility, personal appearance, respectful communication, and customer service. Follow Department guidelines. Represent the City and the Department in a positive and effective manner. Maintain effective communication and rapport with supervisor and participants. For specific specialties, the following will also be performed in addition to what is listed above: Dance Instructor Plans and leads engaging dance classes for participants of various ages and skill levels. Fitness Instructor Leads safe, engaging group fitness classes for participants ages 15+ and/or adults 50+. Enrichment Class Instructor Develops and leads recreational enrichment classes in areas such as cooking, art, language, crafts, or other specialty interests for participants of various ages.
Education and Experience:
Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old. Ability to be First Aid & CPR Certification after hire is required. In addition to the above, the following are specific requirements for each position: Dance Instructor Instructors should have experience in one or more dance styles and be comfortable creating a welcoming, positive, and inclusive class environment. Fitness Instructor Instructors must possess appropriate fitness certification and be able to adapt exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels and abilities. Enrichment Class Instructor Instructors should have knowledge or experience in their subject area and enjoy sharing their skills in an engaging, supportive environment.
