Job Description

The Pilates Instructor leads engaging group and individual Pilates classes, including mat and reformer formats, for participants of varying fitness levels, abilities, and health backgrounds. The Pilates Instructor creates a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive environment while delivering exceptional customer service and memorable participant experiences. Responsibilities include developing and implementing class programming under the direction of program leadership, adapting exercises and instruction to meet individual skill levels, ensuring safe and effective technique, inspiring participants to achieve their wellness goals, and collaborating with Exercise Physiologists and other healthcare professionals, as appropriate, to support participants with identified health needs. The Pilates Instructor serves as a positive ambassador for the organization by fostering participant engagement, building community, and creating an outstanding fitness experience. Additional responsibilities include setting up classes, greeting participants and managing sign-in procedures, supporting the day-to-day operations through administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, participant communications, follow-up activities, and other operational support as needed, cleaning and stocking studio and fitness areas, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, supporting special events, educational workshops, and community wellness initiatives, and performing other duties as assigned. Experience teaching Pilates classes, including mat and/or reformer instruction, with the ability to safely demonstrate and adapt exercises for participants of varying fitness levels, abilities, and health backgrounds is required. Experience building rapport with participants and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that fosters long-term engagement is strongly preferred. Experience working with older adults or individuals managing chronic health conditions is preferred. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire participants in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
3 years of experience in Yoga or Fitness instruction. Certifications Required CPR/AED certification is required upon 6 months of hire Certifications Preferred Current Pilates instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization with training in mat and/or reformer instruction, as applicable to assigned classes; Additional certifications in specialty areas such as Active Aging, Balance and Fall Prevention, Functional Movement, Corrective Exercise, Mobility, or other evidence-based movement modalities are preferred.
