  • Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire This position offers an opportunity to contribute pharmacy expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment, focusing on long-term care and hospice support.
Located in Chicora, PA, this role involves a 3-month contract-to-hire assignment with a consistent 40-hour workweek. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
Review orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients. Verify accuracy of blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile products. Address clinical questions and provide comprehensive responses to nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians via phone. Manage controlled substances by counting and accurately documenting inventory in the perpetual log. Conduct regular checks of emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness. Utilize pharmacy software systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Current registered pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing. Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care settings. Physical ability to sit, stand, demonstrate fine motor skills, have good visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
Hours/Schedule:
40 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM
  • 6:00 PM. Saturday, 8:00 AM
  • 4:00 PM. Sunday, 8:00 AM
  • 3:00 PM.
