Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a 200-bed community hospital in Southwest Virginia. This contract assignment offers an immediate start and a duration of 13 weeks with the potential for extension. The role focuses on ensuring seamless pharmacy operations within a hospital setting, emphasizing collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers regarding medication therapies Utilize hospital information systems, including EPIC and Pyxis, to manage patient records and medication dispensing
Qualifications:
Active pharmacist license in Virginia is required Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication management Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Schedule/Hours:
Day shift schedule featuring a combination of 8- and 10-hour shifts
