Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract This contract role offers an opportunity to lead pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility specializing in psychiatric care. The ideal candidate brings hospital pharmacy expertise and management experience to oversee daily functions, maintain compliance, and support staff within a specialized psychiatric setting.
Location:
New Lenox, IL Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, with on-call coverage required seven days a week
Position Type:
Contract, starting August 17th until a permanent candidate is hired
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), ensuring smooth pharmacy operations Manage staffing, scheduling, and pharmacy meetings Maintain daily pharmacy activities with an emphasis on quality and compliance Communicate progress and updates regularly via emails and monthly one-on-one meetings with the account manager Oversee pharmacy automation, primarily using Omnicell system (experience preferred; training provided) Handle order entry system utilization (training provided) Supervise a pharmacy team consisting of one part-time pharmacist and one technician Apply basic financial knowledge to support pharmacy budgeting and reporting needs
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Illinois Pharmacist licensure is required Minimum of three years in a hospital pharmacy management role is preferred Experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health pharmacy is advantageous Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with Omnicell automation systems is a plus

Business casual dress code Onsite training will be provided to ensure smooth transition into role Facility is accessible via Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) Dedicated tech support available for Omnicell restocking This contract position offers the chance to lead and maintain pharmacy services in a specialized psychiatric hospital environment.
