The candidate is required to be a pharmacy technician professional who is detail-oriented, with strong organizational, communicational and multi tasking skills both written and verbal and be able to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals. You must have strong work ethics, be attentive, be dependable and punctual. Daily duty includes but is not limited to servicing retail, phone and specialty customers. Reviewing and analyzing patient medical records to determine the need for prior authorization based on clinical guidelines and to submit authorization requests to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems to facilitate the authorization requests to ensure compliance with policy requirements, maintain accurate records of all authorization requests and follow up on pending approvals, collaborate with the health insurance companies to resolve any issues related to denied authorizations or claims. Must have strong understanding of medical terminology, coding and insurance verification processes with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives to facilitate timely approvals for treatments and procedures. Our staff is required to be courteous to patients, doctors and other staff members. Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, coding practices and healthcare regulations, etc. and to manage multiple tasks effectively including packaging and shipping of medications to be shipped or delivered to patients or doctor offices as required. This is a full time employment opportunity with starting salary of $25.00 per hour depending on your level of experience. The Pharmacy software being used is DigitalRX but don't let that stop you from applying as most pharmacy software are very similar. We are open to the public Monday to Friday 9AM - 5.30PM only, Being English/Spanish bilingual is an advantage but not essential. References and other requirements will be checked as well as drug testing as required.
