You know the workflow, you know the terminology, and you know how important a good pharmacy technician is to keeping everything moving. Now imagine doing that in an independent pharmacy where you actually get to know the patients you're helping! Oswald's Pharmacy has been serving the Naperville community since 1875. We're a sixth generation, family-owned independent pharmacy looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team part-time. For the right candidate, an opportunity to move to full-time would be possible. This is not an entry-level or trainee position. We're looking for someone who already has pharmacy technician experience and can step into a busy community pharmacy, learn our systems and become a dependable part of the team. What You'll Do Assist pharmacists with the preparation and filling of prescriptions. Enter prescription and patient information accurately. Process insurance claims and help troubleshoot common billing and rejection issues. Answer phones and assist patients with prescription questions, refill requests and pickup. Count, package and label medications accurately and efficiently. Help manage prescription inventory, ordering, returns and expiration dates. Communicate with physician offices, insurance companies and patients as needed. Maintain an organized, clean and efficient pharmacy workspace. Help keep prescription workflow moving during busy periods. Provide friendly, professional customer service to patients. Work closely with our pharmacists and pharmacy technician team to solve problems and take care of our patients. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who already understands how a retail or community pharmacy operates and can contribute without needing to learn the job from scratch. The right person is dependable, accurate, comfortable working with patients and able to stay organized when the pharmacy gets busy. Required Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician registration/license in good standing. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with pharmacy computer systems, insurance claims and prescription workflow. Strong communication and customer service skills. Dependable and able to work well as part of a team. Ability to work approximately 15-25 hours per week. Preferred Community or retail pharmacy experience. Experience handling insurance rejections and third-party billing.
