$57/hour Position Summary The Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals (BHDDH) is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist I to provide physical therapy services to patients at Rhode Island Psychiatric Hospital. Under the general supervision of the Administrator of Physical Rehabilitation, the Physical Therapist will evaluate, develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans to maximize patient function, independence, and quality of life. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review physician referrals and medical records to determine appropriate physical therapy evaluations and interventions. Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans. Assess functional deficits and establish patient-centered goals and treatment strategies. Implement and modify treatment plans utilizing evidence-based interventions. Provide services in behavioral health and long-term care environments. Administer therapeutic interventions including exercise, gait training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, strengthening, positioning, splinting, and adaptive equipment training. Educate patients, families, caregivers, and staff. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members. Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress. Provide in-service training and consultation as needed.

Required Qualifications:

•Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

•Minimum one year of experience working with an adult population preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•Knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices;

•Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills. License Requirement Must possess and maintain a current Rhode Island Physical Therapist license. Preferred Qualifications Experience in psychiatric, rehabilitation, long-term care, or hospital settings is desirable. #
