Category Schools - PTA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student achievement as a Physical Therapist Assistant across two vibrant school communities near the Rillito, AZ area. Partnering with a virtual PT supervisor, you'll deliver crucial onsite services, making a real impact on students' mobility, participation, and daily functioning. This position involves providing 150 minutes of direct physical therapy services per month, delivered across both Tucson and Oro Valley campuses. As the in-person representative of the therapy team, you'll help shape individualized therapy activities and follow evidence-based plans tailored to meet each student's needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Arizona Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred Skilled in collaborating with supervising PTs and multidisciplinary educational teams Organized, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple school campuses Commitment to student-centered, compassionate patient care
Primary Responsibilities:
Carry out direct physical therapy interventions as outlined by the supervising PT Foster students' growth in mobility skills and independence within the school environment Document sessions and progress accurately, maintaining compliance with school and state requirements Communicate effectively with faculty, parents, and your supervising PT to support continuity of care Support implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) related to physical therapy goals This contract position offers meaningful, hands-on involvement optimizing student function in academic settings, with a clear schedule of 150 service minutes monthly between the designated Tucson and Oro Valley locations.
