Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Contract Deliver expert care in a dynamic Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting, working alongside a dedicated healthcare team to support patients recovering from surgical procedures. This contract role is ideal for a Registered Nurse skilled in the unique aspects of PACU care, with a focus on patient safety, rapid assessment, and efficient recovery processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current, unrestricted RN license Minimum of one year recent PACU nursing experience Proficient with post-operative patient monitoring and assessment Strong IV and airway management skills Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, assessing vital signs and level of consciousness Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring patient comfort and rapid response to complications Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and ancillary staff for optimal care Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and care activities Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies and acute physiologic changes
