What they do
A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
Shift:
7:00 PM - 7:00AM Experience:
- 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
- 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
- Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
- Local & travel allowed.
- COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
- Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.
- No current placement allowed at
Program:
Medefis Program - Southern Illinois Healthcare. Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.Additional Details:
Unit Details:
Blended Med-Surg unit with a swing bed program and occasional PCU-level patients. Assignments are balanced based on nursing workload and patient acuity; supervisors adjust assignments for nurses with Med-Surg-only backgrounds.Ratios:
1:5 Med-Surg, 1:5-6 swing bed, 1:3-4 PCU depending on whether the patient is on a drip.Shift & Scheduling:
Every other holiday and every other weekend. No on-call. 14 days maximum time off 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months Proof of identification requiredCertifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
