Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Stepdown Registered Nurses play a critical role in delivering intermediate care to patients transitioning from intensive care or requiring close monitoring. This contract role offers a stimulating environment where your advanced assessment skills and clinical expertise will make a significant impact on patient recovery and outcomes.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. Proficiency in managing complex patient cases requiring frequent assessment and interventions. Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and ventilator support. Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in a stepdown unit under physician supervision. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, conduct frequent patient assessments, and respond to changes in condition promptly. Manage medication administration and titration of IV infusions as ordered. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and update individualized care plans. Educate patients and their families about post-ICU care, discharge planning, and ongoing health maintenance. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
