A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Education/Experience Minimum Required:
A graduate of an accredited school of
Nursing Preferred:
Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
License/Certification Minimum Required:
Current New York State Registered Nurse License or Limited Permit CPR within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, Basic Coronary) Work Environment Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are airconditioned and heated. Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Infection Control policies.
