In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical tasks. We will train you in using the electronic medical record. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through efficient office management and clinical support. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using EMR/EHR systemsin Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while managing electronic health records (EHR) with systems like Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Assist healthcare providers with documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and care plan documentation to support accurate billing and recordkeeping. Manage phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers using professional phone etiquette; schedule appointments and follow-up calls efficiently. Maintain filing systems for medical records, perform data entry with 10-key typing skills, and ensure all documentation aligns with clinical confidentiality policies. Support clinical staff by performing clerical duties such as faxing, scanning documents, and managing health information management tasks. Qualifications Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to perform accurate data entry and typing (10-key). Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; bilingual abilities especially in Spanish is highly desired. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
