Signing Bonus Available Position Overview An acute-care healthcare organization in Beckley, West Virginia is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care across multiple patient-care areas. This mid-level position is well suited for an RRT who can work with limited supervision, respond effectively to changing patient needs, and make sound clinical decisions within established respiratory care protocols. The Respiratory Therapist will administer prescribed treatments, evaluate patient responses, assist during emergencies, perform diagnostic testing, maintain respiratory equipment, and collaborate with physicians and other members of the clinical team. Key Responsibilities Deliver respiratory therapy services to patients throughout assigned clinical areas under appropriate medical direction. Assess patients and administer respiratory treatments according to established plans of care and provider orders. Monitor patient responses to treatment and accurately document and communicate changes in condition. Measure pulmonary function and collect and analyze blood samples using blood gas analysis equipment. Respond to emergency calls and codes, assess respiratory status, and provide appropriate interventions. Exercise independent clinical judgment while working within established respiratory care policies and procedures. Adapt to different clinical assignments and complete specialized responsibilities associated with each area. Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and available community resources. Support the orientation, training, and continuing education of respiratory care team members when assigned. Provide oversight of other respiratory care practitioners when required. Review respiratory care practices in relation to patient outcomes, current research, and evidence-based standards. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders. Clean, disinfect, sterilize, calibrate, and perform routine preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment as required. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program. Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care or higher. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current license to practice respiratory care in the State of West Virginia. Preferred Qualifications Acute-care or hospital-based respiratory therapy experience. Experience managing respiratory emergencies and responding to codes. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
