Our school setting and approach are different from a traditional school. We are looking for caring, patient, dependable professionals who genuinely enjoy working with children, want to make a meaningful difference in a student's life, and are willing to think outside the box, work creatively, and collaborate as part of a supportive team. We are looking for someone who cares about students, is patient and supportive, and wants to be part of a team that works differently. The right person is willing to be flexible, think creatively, and help each student succeed in a way that is meaningful for that individual child. Provide direct speech-language services based on student's IEP needs. Address communication needs within the student's school day, including functional communication, receptive/expressive language, social communication, AAC, and other assigned IEP goals within professional scope. Collect data, monitor progress, maintain service documentation, and participate in IEP/student-team meetings as needed. Collaborate with teachers, families, and other related-service providers to help students use communication skills across settings. Formal district assessments are not a core responsibility of this position.

Current California qualifications required for assigned school-based speech-language services. Experience with AAC, autism, functional communication or students with complex communication needs is valued. Patient, caring, collaborative, and comfortable working creatively in a nontraditional school environment.
