Job Description

Population and Position Overview There are two positions available. 1) Maternity leave coverage through the end of January. Possibly a longer position will be available. Caseload is 60 students in General Education. 2) Program SLP 3 days will be at an elementary school working in special programs (e.g., life skills, functional academics). The other 2 days will be split between 2 non-Pub schools. You will NOT be Teacher of Record for this caseload. The client prefers an in-person SLP to fill an open position for the 2026-2027 school year, with the possibility of extending the contract into the 2027-2028 school year based on satisfactory performance. About Ascender INC Ascender INC is a small business founded and operated by a speech-language pathologist. Owner Daniel Medina recognized the significant needs present in school systems across Indiana but found it difficult to identify long-term candidates outside of temporary contracts and remote/virtual therapists. Candidates will have the option to become a W2 employee of Ascender Inc. or work as a 1099 independent contractor.

Speech-language pathologists play a crucial role in reform initiatives within elementary and secondary schools by addressing a variety of speech and language challenges to help students meet performance standards. Their responsibilities encompass prevention, assessment, intervention, and program design, all integrated within the school environment. This aligns with the guidelines set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Pay:
$58.00 - $62.00 per hour
