Job Description
Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract A leading healthcare provider seeks skilled professionals to join the operating room team as surgical technologists or operating room technicians. This position involves providing vital support during surgical procedures and ensuring the operating environment is safe and well-prepared for both the surgical team and the patient. Individuals with experience as Certified Surgical Technologists (CST), Non-certified Surgical Techs, and Nursing - ORT are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized and set up correctly. Assist surgical teams during operations by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment. Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control standards. Monitor and account for surgical instruments, sponges, and tools before, during, and after procedures. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate successful outcomes. Handle specimens according to facility protocols. Perform post-operative clean-up and turnover for upcoming procedures. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly during procedures.Qualifications:
Proven experience as an ORT, Surgical Tech (Certified or Non-certified), or in a similar operating room support role. In-depth understanding of sterile technique and infection control practices. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred but not required. Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program is an advantage.Benefits:
