• Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, specifically on the espresso machine
• Take customer orders and process payments accurately using a cash register
• Neatly box or wrap customers' treats
• Be aware of customer allergies and take necessary steps to keep their order safe
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies as needed
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers
• Complete daily tasks checklists and opening & closing checklists efficiently. Includes doing dishes to help the kitchen.
• Job extends beyond just making drinks.

Our Baristas do small food prep (think smoothies & avo toasts) as well as restocking our large display case of baked goods.

Qualifications:

• This is NOT the job for you if you're looking for the slower-paced, glamorous barista job that is portrayed online
• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is required
• Complete knowledge of plant-based diets and an understanding common allergies
• Friendly, enthusiastic, and welcoming towards ALL customers
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to memorize dozens of drink recipes & basic treat ingredients
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of food handling procedures is a plus
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and beverage trends
• Willingness to go with the flow as shop needs change throughout the day Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds.
