POSITION OVERVIEW
Prepare and serve beverages for servers and guests in a speedy, efficient, friendly, and professional manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare drinks for the guests and servers, ensure that the proper materials and supplies are on hand, and talk to guests. Ensure that minors and intoxicated people are not served alcoholic beverages. Provide guests with the best possible service skills and charm, while maintaining a professional distance, using FORBES and Ranch at Laguna Beach standards. Make all beverages to The Ranch standards and specifications. Act as the cashier for the servers when necessary. Properly secure all payment and complete cashier report at the end of shift. Ensure guests are staying at the resort by verifying guest name and room number. Set up and take down of station including stocking of all beverages & glassware. Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area through disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas. Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits. Fill out requisitions and all necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of
The Ranch:
Assist servers and other bartenders when necessary. Participate in the deep cleaning of the Pond Bar and pool area.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Education and Licensing:
High school or equivalent education required. Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
Skills and Experience:
Current experience working in a high volume bar or restaurant, strong customer service skills required. Ideal candidate will have previous hotel or resort experience in a bar or restaurant setting. Must have cashiering and cash handling experience. Grooming All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Ranch standards.
Competencies:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computational ability. Must possess basic computer skills. Must have knowledge of and be able to operate all equipment related to the restaurant, including, but not limited to, coffee maker and cash terminal. Knowledge of The Ranch operations, its services, and facilities. Must have a strong knowledge of wine, beer, liquors, waters and drink preparation. Must know all applicable health standards. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations, and The Ranch policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work tasks are performed outdoors. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like outdoor heat, cold and rain. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6-8 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. May be required to lift trays of beverage or food items weighing up to 25 lbs. Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other team members. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including, but not limited to, cutlery used in the cutting of fruit.
Other:
Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the fluctuation in business levels in the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of The Ranch. In addition, attendance is required at all scheduled training sessions and meetings. Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of The Ranch's facilities. Team members who violate The Ranch rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
