Bartender 5/23/2026 Department Summary The Luskin Conference Center (LCC) is a 300,000-square-foot, 7-story property on the UCLA campus. The LCC is comprised of 254 guest rooms, approximately 25,000 square feet of meeting space, a 160-seat restaurant, a fitness center, and a business center. The LCC is an academic meeting and conference destination supporting UCLA's education and research mission. The Luskin Conference Center is a no-tipping environment. Position Summary The Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic beverages for bar patrons and restaurant guests, including making recommendations and answering beverage questions. The incumbent must be familiar with wines, spirits, beers, and daily menu items. The Bartender is proficient in the art of making specialty cocktails with a thorough understanding of the ingredients and processes involved. Salary & Compensation •UCLA provides a full pay range. Qualifications 2+ years Experience in customer service (Required) 1+ years Experience in a hotel environment (Preferred) Ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner (Required) Ability to remain calm in the face of adversity, such as customer dissatisfaction (Required) Ability to sufficiently communicate in written and verbal English to receive work assignments and share information with supervisors and colleagues (Required) Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a fluctuating workload (Required) Expert knowledge of alcoholic beverages and garnishes, including beer, wine, and spirits (Required) Advanced knowledge of correct serving practices and beverage industry standards (Required) Demonstrated skill using blenders, mixers, muddlers, corkscrews, bottle openers, and other basic bartender hand tools (Required) Ability to comply with safety and sanitation standards and procedures for food and alcohol storage, production, and service (Required) Math skills sufficient to properly adhere to production and customer payment transactions (Required) Skill in interacting with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume, public setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, and a friendly and professional demeanor (Required) Working knowledge of basic culinary techniques, terminology, and practices (Preferred) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations TIPS California Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) Certification (Required) Professional bartending training certificate (Required) Special Conditions for Employment ground
