We are hiring a server assistant to support our dining room team. The role keeps service seamless, tables immaculate, and every guest cared for to the same standard as our omakase counter. What you'll do Run food and beverages from the kitchen, sushi counter, and bar, presenting each dish accurately and with care Clear, reset, and detail tables quickly and quietly, following Okonori's standards for placement and presentation Keep water, tea, and service ware attended to throughout the meal, without guests needing to ask Support servers with course pacing, marking tables for upcoming courses, and responding to guest requests Stock and maintain side stations, glassware, linens, and service supplies before, during, and after service Complete opening, closing, and downtime checklists, including polishing and organizing Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen throughout service What we're looking for Prior experience as a busser, food runner, or server assistant in a full-service restaurant; fine dining experience preferred but not required, and we will train A strong eye for detail and pride in doing small things well Interest in learning Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and service, with room to grow into a server role Reliable attendance and punctuality; this is a small team where every shift matters Composed, polished, and attentive with guests, with clear speech, professional presence, and no shortcuts on hospitality Able to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays, bus tubs, and service ware up to 50 lbs Valid Indiana alcohol server permit preferred, or willingness to obtain one Open availability preferred, including weekends and holidays Schedule Lunch service runs 12:00-2:30 PM and dinner service 4:30-9:30 PM on weekdays. Shifts are scheduled around both services, and weekend availability is required.
