Sous Chef East End Bistrot Raleigh, NC Job Details Full-time From $60,000 a year 20 hours ago Benefits Free parking Qualifications Asian cuisine Seafood French cuisine Full Job Description Job Overview Seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef for our 50-seat restaurant in Raleigh. East End Bistrot serves classic and Asian-inspired French cuisine with a strong focus on seafood. The Sous Chef works directly with the Partner/Executive Chef and oversees all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency nightly. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a refined palate, strong culinary background, and rigorous food safety standards. Experience in French and Asian cuisine is a must, bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. This is an opportunity to grow with a well-regarded and highly experienced chef. East End Bistrot is open for dinner Tuesday-Saturday and Sunday brunch. The Sous Chef works five (5) days per week, including Sunday brunch. Free parking is available on-site. Duties Lead and manage kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and presentation Supervise kitchen staff including training, scheduling, and performance management Oversee inventory control and food cost Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas. Monitor kitchen workflows during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of dishes to guests. Skills Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining environments. Proven supervising experience in a high-volume kitchen setting. Expertise in food presentation and food handling techniques. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively. Experience managing inventory control, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations. Familiarity with restaurant management practices including shift management and food service management. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with front-of-house staff and vendors. Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
