We are recruiting experienced sushi chefs from South Florida for a two-month seasonal summer position. Free housing and employee meals are provided. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented professional to craft authentic sushi dishes while providing exceptional food service. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a high-volume, fast-paced setting, all while being supported with comprehensive accommodations and meal plans. Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty items, adhering strictly to recipe standards and presentation quality Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures throughout all stages of food handling and preparation Operate kitchen equipment such as sushi knives, rice cookers, blenders, and refrigeration units efficiently and safely Assist in menu planning by suggesting new sushi creations and seasonal specials to delight guests Ensure consistent quality control by following established recipes and portion sizes during food production Support dietary department requirements by accommodating special dietary needs and ensuring allergen safety protocols are followed Participate in high-volume food production during peak service hours while maintaining speed, accuracy, and attention to detail Experience Proven experience as a sushi chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining or restaurant environments Strong knife skills with expertise in precise slicing techniques for fish, vegetables, and other ingredients Familiarity with food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and creative food presentation in a fast-paced setting Background in food industry standards related to grilling, braising, poaching, and general food preparation methods Previous catering or serving experience is advantageous for delivering excellent guest interactions Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently in high-volume production environments Embark on this exciting culinary adventure where your skills will be celebrated!
