The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in Japanese cuisine, and will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene practices. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. Ensure all food handling and preparation meets health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow during meal preparation. Assist in menu planning and the development of new sushi offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and ensuring their dining experience is exceptional. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and food safety standards. Familiarity with various types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi making. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to help others in the kitchen as needed. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques related to sushi preparation.
