We pride ourselves on providing a supportive work environment in our newly renovated 250+ room hotel, with nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space conveniently located for business and leisure travelers. Our property is just a short drive from the world-famous Mall of America. Features include a full-service modern American Restaurant concept, with creatively crafted food and Beverage made with a Minnesota twist. Other amenities include our indoor heated junior Olympic-sized pool, whirlpool, and 24-hour fitness center, as well as a recent complete remodel of the property with a local Minnesotan theme. Local 17, Minnesota's Hospitality Union! The Pay Range is $20.80 to $21.42, based on experience. To serve as an ambassador for the hotel to our VIP and Concierge-Level guests by welcoming them to the hospitable Concierge Lounge, providing special assistance and information about local area attractions to customers and patrons, and offering a wide selection of options to ensure guest satisfaction. Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Make a personal connection with each guest and respond to guest cues (anticipate their needs). Use a clear, understandable speaking voice, exercise judgment, and respond to inquiries with accurate information regarding hours of outlet operation, directions to local attractions, or meeting rooms Maintain a spotless and organized area to ensure all guests have what they need at any time during the day and maintain a fresh, clean feel for the region. Ensure the Concierge Lounge is kept clean and stocked with the proper food and beverage for the given time of day. Follow proper food handling techniques and food safety procedures. Ensure all equipment works properly, including the fridge, warmers, and access door. If anything is out of order, notify the supervisor and engineering to ensure a quick fix. The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the job's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, using another combination of skills and abilities. Ability to effectively work with internal and external customers, some of whom require patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts. Ability to listen effectively and to speak and write English. Ability to stand, walk, and sit while performing essential job functions. Ability to hear and see to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
Other Expectations:
Regular attendance in conformance with established standards, which may be updated from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the hotel's business needs. This includes nights, weekends, and/or holidays. All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available). Employees are required to take responsibility and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties. Complies with health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications:
Education:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, or any other combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience:
Have prior customer service experience. Front Desk or other hospitality experience preferred.
