In person We are looking for a dependable, friendly, hardworking, and motivated Retail / Gas Station Cashier or Cook to join our team in Michigan City, Indiana. This is a hands-on, multi-duty position. Team members are expected to assist wherever needed throughout the store. Responsibilities may include operating the cash register, assisting customers, stocking merchandise, checking expiration dates, cleaning, maintaining store organization, taking out trash, washing dishes and kitchen equipment, and assisting with food preparation and other kitchen duties. The ideal candidate takes initiative, works well in a fast-paced environment, provides excellent customer service, and understands that keeping the entire store clean, stocked, organized, and running efficiently is a shared responsibility. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide friendly, professional, and helpful service. Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit, debit, and other approved transactions. Assist customers with purchases and answer general questions. Keep the checkout area, counters, store aisles, kitchen, and other work areas clean and organized. Stock and organize shelves, aisles, coolers, displays, and other merchandise areas. Check product expiration dates and properly rotate inventory. Clean and complete general store-maintenance duties throughout the shift, particularly during slower periods. Sweep, mop, wipe down surfaces, and maintain clean customer and employee areas as assigned. Empty garbage and maintain designated trash areas. Wash pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and other kitchen equipment as needed. Assist in the kitchen with basic food preparation, food service, cleaning, dishwashing, stocking, and other assigned tasks. Help maintain food-service areas according to applicable cleanliness and food-safety standards. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Follow all applicable laws and company policies regarding age-restricted products, including tobacco sales and required identification/age verification. Work cooperatively with other team members and assist in different areas of the store as needed. Cashier Duties Cooking Duties Serve Food To Go. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail and food-service environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Willing and able to perform a variety of duties, including cashiering, cleaning, stocking, organizing, and assisting with kitchen and food-service tasks. Ability to follow instructions, policies, safety procedures, and applicable laws. Must meet all legal requirements applicable to performing the duties of the position, including requirements related to age-restricted product sales. Must be able to successfully complete a background check in accordance with applicable law.
