This is a hands-on position that combines venue operations, event management, customer service, sales, marketing, and staff supervision . The ideal candidate is professional, outgoing, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and comfortable taking the lead with prospective clients, wedding couples, event hosts, vendors, and staff. Sales is an important part of this position. Our Venue Manager will respond to inquiries, conduct property tours, follow up with prospective clients, promote our venue and services, and help convert inquiries and tours into booked weddings and events. Because prospective clients often need to tour the venue outside traditional office hours, this position requires schedule flexibility. While much of the work will take place during normal business hours, tours and client meetings may occasionally need to be scheduled after 4:00 PM or on weekends. Weddings and special events will also require weekend and evening availability. Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Bama Bed & Breakfast's wedding and event venue.
- Serve as a professional and welcoming representative of Bama Bed & Breakfast to prospective and current clients.
- Respond promptly and professionally to wedding and event inquiries by phone, email, text, and other communication channels.
- Conduct venue tours and confidently present the property, amenities, packages, and available services to prospective clients.
- Actively sell the venue and work to convert inquiries and tours into confirmed bookings.
- Follow up consistently with prospective clients throughout the sales process.
- Maintain organized records of leads, tours, follow-ups, bookings, payments, contracts, and upcoming events.
- Coordinate event logistics, including planning, setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Communicate with wedding couples and event hosts throughout the planning process to ensure expectations and responsibilities are clearly understood.
- Supervise and coordinate event staff while maintaining high standards of professionalism and guest service.
- Work closely with vendors, wedding professionals, and other partners to ensure successful events.
- Assist with marketing and promotional efforts designed to increase weddings, events, tours, and bookings.
- Identify opportunities to improve venue offerings, packages, marketing, and the overall guest experience.
- Address client or guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain the appearance, organization, and event-readiness of the venue and surrounding event spaces.
- Prepare reports regarding inquiries, tours, bookings, sales performance, upcoming events, guest feedback, and operational needs.
- Assist with additional venue and hospitality responsibilities as needed. Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for this position. The Venue Manager must communicate professionally and clearly with clients, guests, vendors, employees, and management.
- Strong sales ability with the confidence and personality to promote the venue, build relationships, follow up with leads, and ask for the booking.
- Exceptional customer service and hospitality skills.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple weddings, events, inquiries, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Professional appearance and demeanor when meeting with prospective clients and guests.
- Strong follow-through and the ability to work independently without requiring constant direction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain professional during stressful or time-sensitive situations.
- Experience in weddings, events, hospitality, venue management, sales, or customer service is strongly preferred.
- Experience supervising or coordinating staff is preferred.
- Comfortable using computers, email, online calendars, booking systems, documents, spreadsheets, and other business technology.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear written reports.
- Must be dependable and willing to work a flexible schedule based on tours, weddings, and events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
