This is a part-time position that begins immediately. Scheduling may be sporadic based on time of year. We expect External Events Staff to work 5-7 events per month, depending on our event schedule and availability. Scheduling will slow down around November, but is expected to pick back up in May. We need people that are eager to tell our story, share knowledge about our products and how cider is made, and who will engage the community to help make traditional cider more well known. It's essential that our staff are excited about learning about our style of hard cider, are able to describe our products to customers, and can help connect our products and story to our brand. The ideal candidate has experience with and passion for going above and beyond to create a world class customer experience before, during, and after an event. Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to: Serve visitors at offsite events with a positive and friendly demeanor. Selling our ciders and merchandise at civic events and festivals, farmer's markets, and networking or community events mostly in central Kentucky, but could include events throughout the state. Loading inventory and supplies into the company van, driving the company van, set up and breakdown at the event site, and unloading inventory and supplies back to the cidery. Educate consumers on our ciders, differences between the products, and the history of cider Share our story with your customers Encourage customers to return through offers of participation in loyalty and community programs. Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience. Maintain organization, stocking, and cleanliness of all offsite equipment. Adhere to all opening and closing duties of an offsite event, including cleaning, inventory counting and restocking, and cash drawer procedures. Ability to perform in a high volume environment without getting flustered. Ability to stay busy and use your time meaningfully during slow periods. Ability to work independently. Follow and enforce all ABC regulations for over serving and underage drinking. Follow and comply with all relevant Health Department and food safety regulations, if applicable. Requirements You are passionate about craft cider, know what our cider tastes like, and can have a basic conversation about cider in an interview OR are open to learning. You LOVE hospitality and have experience working in the hospitality industry, preferably in a brewery, winery, cidery, restaurant or bar. Preference for prior experience setting up and selling products at pop-up events such as Farmer's Markets, but eagerness to learn will suffice. Comfortable working alone and problem solving. Ability to work on nights and weekends with a heavy emphasis on Friday nights, Saturday days and Sunday days. Experience using POS systems.
Proven track record:
stable record of success in the past hospitality jobs you've had (or a good reason why it didn't work out!) Awesome references. Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time. Ability to move and lift 50+ pounds, set-up tents, jockey boxes, cases of cider, etc. Thorough knowledge of ABC rules and regulations at a City and State level. STAR certified (or similar approved KY ABC alcohol server certification). Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be 21 years of age or older.
Compensation:
This is a part-time, hourly position that earns $2.13/hour + tips. However, we guarantee that you won't make less than $15/hour per event, so if tips don't bring the hourly earnings for that event to $15/hour, we pay the difference. When multiple staff are working the same event, tips are pooled between all staff that worked that event.
