Job Description
MJE Catering is looking for a hardworking and detail oriented perfectionist for our Catering Event Assistant position. The Catering Event Assistant will be responsible for the delivery, set-up and breakdown of catering events while maintaining MJE quality standards and providing exemplary customer service.
The candidate:
- must maintain extreme professionalism and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and other MJE staff.
- should at a minimum, have customer service experience. Event design, catering, or hospitality industry experience is preferred.
- must have a valid drivers license and insurance, and willing to use personal vehicle for deliveries. A larger size vehicle is not necessary, but preferred. When necessary, candidate may need to drive 6' transit van comfortably.
- must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds comfortably
- must be able to stand for prolonged periods. The candidate will be responsible for:
- reading catering orders, and assembling necessary equipment for service
- delivering, setting up, and breaking down food and catering equipment (may require candidate to leave off-site and come back at the conclusion of the event)
- returning, cleaning, and storing equipment at MJE kitchen for future use
- providing event feedback to management or kitchen staff as necessary, and escalating issues tom management immediately
- being knowledgeable of MJE Catering menu items and preparation styles, and able to effectively answer client questions
- communicate any potential referrals or event leads to sales team
- keep inventory of event supplies
- perform all reasonable duties requested by management The position requires a valid drivers license and personal vehicle.
