HELP US BUILD SOMETHING NEW.
Creative Drama Children's Theater is looking for a creative, organized, energetic, and highly dependable Events & Experiences Manager to help us build and grow a brand-new program within our organization. We are a growing children's theater serving hundreds of students and families throughout the Clemmons/Winston-Salem area. We believe the Creative Drama experience should extend beyond the classroom—and we're ready to make that vision a reality. For years, we've created experiences like Back-to-School Bashes, Costume Balls, movie nights, holiday celebrations and special workshops. Now we're looking for someone who can take those ideas and turn them into a consistent, intentional, beautifully executed program. This is more than traditional event planning.
WHAT YOU'LL HELP BUILD
The Events & Experiences Manager will create experiences that: Strengthen student retention and belonging Give students opportunities to build friendships and pride in being part of Creative Drama Create memorable experiences for our families Bring new families into our community Provide exceptional educational opportunities Build community partnerships Develop new revenue opportunities for Creative Drama Potential experiences include: Student socials and themed events Back-to-School Bash Costume and holiday events Movie nights Parent's Night Out Bring-a-Friend experiences Birthday parties Specialty workshops Guest artist experiences Playhouse rentals Private events Community experiences Educational master classes and workshops The long-term goal is to build an Events & Experiences program capable of generating $15,000-$30,000+ in additional annual revenue while strengthening the Creative Drama student and family experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Once an event or program is approved, you own the execution.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain the Events & Experiences calendar Turn approved ideas into detailed event plans Coordinate vendors and purchasing Coordinate marketing with our team Manage registration and event logistics Coordinate event staff, interns and helpers Plan setup and breakdown Manage event-day logistics Track supplies and expenses Complete post-event reporting Develop repeatable event systems and checklists Help develop and grow our birthday-party program Help develop and grow our Playhouse rental program Research and develop workshops and guest artist opportunities Identify potential community partnerships Help identify new revenue opportunities Evaluate event results and recommend improvements
THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who can receive an idea and say: "I've got it. Let's make it happen." You should be: Creative Highly organized Dependable Proactive Detail-oriented Warm and welcoming Excellent with children and families A strong communicator A natural problem solver Comfortable working independently Comfortable taking direction Excited about building something from the ground up Able to balance creativity with budgets and business goals You don't have to have a degree in event planning. Experience, initiative, organization, judgment and culture fit matter more to us than a particular credential.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
This is a part-time position beginning at approximately 5 hours per week, with additional approved event-related hours as needed. The five weekly hours are intended to operate and grow the Creative Drama Events & Experiences business. Work may include event planning, vendor coordination, purchasing, marketing coordination, birthday-party development, Playhouse rental development, workshop development, guest artist coordination, partnership development, program systems and revenue development. Additional approved event-related hours may include setup, event execution, breakdown and post-event work. Some evening and weekend availability will be required for events. Starting pay is $20/hour. We intentionally expect this position to grow as the Events & Experiences program grows. Increased hours and responsibility will be based on demonstrated performance, program growth and business need.

You'll have the support and vision of our CEO and leadership team—but we need someone who can take ownership of the details and make things happen.
