Event Coordinator

Job Description

Job Summary The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of community, corporate, and organizational events at the New River Convention Center. This position ensures every event is professionally coordinated from initial planning through successful completion while providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects while building strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of events, including scheduling, venue logistics, vendor coordination, catering, décor, audiovisual needs, and event setup. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and exceptional customer service throughout the planning process. Prepare event timelines, contracts, and related documentation while ensuring all event details are accurate and executed as planned. Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal staff to ensure seamless event operations. Develop and implement marketing and promotional efforts to increase event attendance and community engagement. Monitor event budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities to maximize revenue while maintaining quality standards. Oversee on-site event operations, including registration, guest services, troubleshooting, and post-event follow-up. Identify opportunities to enhance events through sponsorships, additional services, or upgraded event packages. Build and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, businesses, and event partners. Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Evaluate event outcomes and gather feedback to support continuous improvement. Qualifications Associate degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered. One (1) to three (3) years of experience in event planning, hospitality, conference services, catering, or a related field. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Experience negotiating contracts and coordinating with vendors. Knowledge of budgeting, event logistics, and marketing principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management or scheduling software is preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events require. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform duties requiring standing and walking for extended periods. Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Application Question(s): Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events require.

Experience:
