Blue Plate Taco, a beloved neighborhood Baja-inspired Mexican restaurant on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica is looking for enthusiastic hospitable hosts to represent our brand and be a great first impression. We're a favorite for tourists and locals alike since 2013, offering a fast paced, fun and friendly environment that is respect driven and drama free.

Position Summary:

Our Hosts are responsible for creating a memorable first impression with all guests! They do this with genuine enthusiasm and warmth upon arrival. As part of the guest experience, the host greets every guest in a timely manner with a smile, informs guests of accurate wait times if necessary, guides guests to their table and bids guests farewell as they leave. Additionally, the Host supports the service on the floor by refilling beverages, manicuring and bussing tables, and taking payments. Our Hosts also perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning glass and menus, and ensuring restrooms are clean, stocked and orderly.

Requirements and Working Conditions:

6 months host experience in a full-service restaurant preferred. MUST be upbeat, outgoing and hospitality driven. Must love talking to people and taking about food Experience with Open Table a plus Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a team.
