Full Job Description Job Summary :
The Rooms Manager is responsible for managing ensuring that the guest an team experience at the hotel. The position also includes maintaining a positive work environment for our team members as well as maintaining IHG brand standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the guest experience during their stay. Directly oversees guest services/front desk department to include the front desk processes Responsible for all interactions with guests to include responding to reservations and requests to modify existing reservations, special requests, check-in/check-out procedures, telephone procedures and use of hotel's computer systems Trains and develops staff to perform all aspects of their job effectively Maintains a positive, cooperative work environment for all employees and Management Steps in to perform frontline duties when necessary Adheres to all company and hotel brand standards, policies and procedures Demonstrates and expects all safety, confidentiality and privacy protocols for guests and employees are strictly followed. Effectively communicates with all departments to ensure guest requests or concerns are addressed Regularly inspects rooms every day to ensure quality standards are being met Responsible for ensuring lost and found items are reported, itemized and stored Securely Assist in the management of breakfast and housekeeping departments when necessary Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor Requirements Must have hotel leadership experience. A combination of front office and housekeeping is preferred. Ability to work any day of the week and work overtime as needed. Weekends required Must be able to perform all functions of the Housekeeping/Front Office department if needed Ability to effectively communicate with team and share feedback in a positive way Ability to respect the privacy of guests. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English. Spanish speaking is a plus. This is a physically challenging position. Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, bending forward and trunk rotation while standing or sitting Frequent stair climbing, squatting, kneeling and reaching both above and below shoulder Vision - must have the ability to adjust focus as well frequent use of close, peripheral and depth/distance vision Hands/Fingers - frequent use of fine motor skills Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
