Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Hotel General Manager to oversee the overall operations and performance of our 85-room independently owned hotel in College Point, Queens, New York. The General Manager will report directly to ownership and will be responsible for daily hotel operations, staff management, guest satisfaction, revenue performance, cost control, and overall profitability. We are looking for a proactive and accountable hotel professional who can independently manage the property, identify problems, develop and implement solutions, and communicate clearly with ownership . Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily hotel operations, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Guest Services, and Night Audit. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate hotel employees. Maintain high standards for guest service, cleanliness, safety, and property condition. Monitor hotel performance, including Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, Booking Pace, and market demand. Oversee pricing and revenue strategy using hotel data and competitive market information. Manage and monitor Booking.com, Expedia, direct bookings, promotions, rates, and room inventory. Monitor labor costs, operating expenses, and overall hotel profitability. Review guest complaints and online reviews and implement solutions to recurring problems. Establish and maintain effective SOPs and employee accountability. Proactively identify operational problems and ensure they are resolved. Provide ownership with regular updates on hotel performance, staffing, operational issues, actions taken, and recommended next steps. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hotel management experience required; 5+ years preferred. Previous management experience at a similar-size hotel (approximately 75-150 rooms) is strongly preferred. Previous experience as a Hotel General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, or similar hotel leadership role. Strong knowledge of overall hotel operations and staff management. Understanding of hotel revenue management, including Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, pricing, forecasting, and competitive market analysis. Experience with Booking.com, Expedia, and other OTA platforms. Experience with hotel PMS systems; Cloudbeds experience preferred . Lighthouse or similar hotel revenue/market intelligence experience is a plus. Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to analyze hotel performance and make data-driven decisions. Understanding of labor costs, operating expenses, and hotel profitability. Must be proactive, accountable, hands-on, and able to work independently. Bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required. What We Are Looking For We are looking for more than someone who simply keeps the hotel running.
